Services and Standard Appointment Fees
Prenatal Consultation – $75
The prenatal consultation is a personalized 1 hour virtual visit to discuss any questions or concerns prior to delivery. This consultation will prepare new moms for breastfeeding in the first weeks following delivery. We will review:
- Basic breastfeeding education
- Hand expression
- “Golden hour”
- Positioning and latch
- Initiating and maintaining supply
Initial In Home or Virtual Lactation Consultation – $125
The initial consultation will be a 60-90 minute visit (in-home or virtual) to address any unexpected challenges and support parents in their breastfeeding journey. Questions and concerns can be addressed for 2 weeks following initial consultation by email and text at no additional cost. A consultation summary will be sent to your healthcare provider. In this consultation we will:
- Discuss breastfeeding goals
- Review mothers medical history
- Discuss the birth and postpartum period
- Complete a breast exam
- Complete oral assessment for baby
- Observe and assess baby feeding at the breast
- Review pumping
- Discuss breastfeeding and pumping when returning to work
- Create customized care/feeding plan
- Discuss possible tongue tie
- Discuss and review any breastfeeding accessories (nipple shield, etc.)
Follow Up Consultation – $75
The follow up consultation will be a 60 minute visit (in-home or virtual) for established clients. We will review care plan and address any continuing issues or concerns.
Mini Consultation – $50
The mini consultation is a 30 minute (in-home or virtual) visit recommended for older babies who have been breastfeeding for some time. This consultation will address specific questions and concerns regarding:
- Pumping
- Breastfeeding and returning to work
- Breastmilk storage
- Formula preparation and supplementation
- Introducing solids
- Weaning
**Support partners are welcomed and encouraged to attend sessions!**
Payment and Insurance
Payment is due in full at time of consult.
Clayton Lactation is not in-network with any insurance providers at this time.
Clayton Lactation will provide a superbill to be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
